Rudi grew up playing music from a very young age but only started DJing when, at a school disco, he was asked to step in when the hired DJ didn’t turn up. Seeing the crowd move to his selection of songs started a passion that has lasted and grown to this day. He spent his teens and twenties dragging his growing record collection around London with the legendary AP Discos playing everything from Funk, Soul and Disco to Reggae, Dub and Jungle.
It was many years later when Rudi took his first steps to radio DJing when he joined the global Sunrise Radio. Taking on the chart show, Rudi used this platform to grow his knowledge of World Music, Bollywood and UK Bhangra. His energy on the airwaves led him to host large events and festivals like the Asian Lifestyle Show at London Olympia and the Gunnersbury festival.
After a number of years on the airways, Rudi decided to take a hiatus from radio presenting. Unfortunately for him, this wasn’t due to last very long. When Pedro and George Powers knocked on his door, Rudi couldn’t turn down the opportunity to work under the Crackers banner playing the music he had always loved. This tenure was interrupted by a stint at another soul radio station but now he is back with the Crackers team to bring his vast musical knowledge to the airwaves. Old, new. Jazz, blues and everything in between, Rudi’s Weekend Breakfast show gives you everything you need to start your day off right!
I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Let's connect.
